Your glasses, should you need them, are intended to help you see better and more comfortably.  Some people need glasses for distance tasks or for near only, but most of us need to see well at all distances.  Everybody should have sunglasses (prescription or non-prescription based on their eyes)  UV exposure is a factor in many eye diseases, so try to protect your eyes.

We have our own optical laboratory, which allows us to have prescriptions made to meet the highest standard.

Some of the quality frames we carry:
Marchon, Coach, Calvin Klein, ck, Flexon, Disney Princess, Ventana, Tres Jolie, X Games, Safilo, Christian Dior, kate spade, Nine West, Fossil, Hugo Boss, Marcolin, Timberland, Kenneth Cole New York, Kenneth Cole Reaction, Cover Girl, Tura, Silver Dollar, Black Eye, Cashmere, NRG, Cafe Lunettes, Port Royale, Durango, Wolverine, Titmus Safety Eyewear, On-Guard Safety Eyewear, Hudson Safety Eyewear

Some of the lens types we prefer are:
Progressive lenses
are bifocals without the lines an old fashioned bifocal lens has. Their main advantage is that they look better, but they also work better. Because the power gradually changes from distance fixation to near fixation they work like a zoom lens. You can see clear at a reading distance as well as at arms distance. From looking at your computer screen to deciding which box of cereal to buy at the grocery store, progressives offer a definite advantage.

There are several new types of lens materials now available. High index Lenses are lighter, thinner and look better. Polycarbonate Lenses are the thinnest and most impact resistant lens material available anywhere in the world.

Transitions are lenses that darken outside and lighten indoors.  They are very convenient.

Anti-Reflection Coatings prevent light from reflecting off your lenses. As a result more light goes through the lens, which can improve vision. They reduce glare and irritating reflections, improve night vision and make the glasses just look better. They allow much more eye contact when speaking to others.  They have a fantastic warranty.  Any scratches and they will be replaced free.

Computer Glasses are custom prescriptions designed for the individual computer user. If you spend one or more hours per day on a computer or if your eyes bother you when working on a computer you probably need computer glasses.

Safety Glasses really do reduce eye injuries. We have a safety glass program available to employers in the area.  It allows the employer to provide safty glasses to their employees at a significant savings.  Safety glasses save vision!

We guarantee glasses to be of top quality and will, for one year, repair or replace frames that break under normal use.

Eyeglass frames need to be re-adjusted  once in a while.  Do not hesitate in coming in for a “tune-up”.

Scratch coated lenses, anti-reflection coated lenses, and most premium lenses are guaranteed for one year.  Quality lenses have quality warranty's.  Take advantage of them!

The Dr.Steensma Economic Stimulus Plan

In an effort to do our part for the lagging economy, we created a temporary special offer.

If you buy a second or third pair of glasses at the same time, the second and third pair are 50% off.  Most advertised BOGO (Buy One Get One) offerings should be called BOGCO (Buy One Get a Cheap One) because they involve inferior materials.  We don't do that.  Our offer extends to all of our frames.  You can get a Kate Spade, Calvin Klein or Coach frame with lenses at half price.

The only requirement is that you order two or more complete pair of glasses (frame and lenses with scratch protection) at the same time.
