Anterior Blepharitis manifests as inflamed eyelid margins often with small flakes that can fall into the eyes causing more irritation. The mainstay of therapy is careful lid hygiene.

Posterior Blepharitis is a condition in which the oil glands within the eyelids start making a thicker oil which can plug up the glands. The mainstay of therapy is warm compresses and massage. Sometimes antibiotics are also used for both types of blepharitis.
