We updated our examination equipment in May 2009.  We now can take digital photographs of the inside of your eye.  It allows us to see details at a level never possible in the past.

In the first 2 months of use, we have identified 8 patients with very early eye disease that was not detected with traditional examination techniques.  The sooner a problem is detected, the better the final outcome.

We have started to implement our new paperless electronic medical records (EMR) system.

Our new computer server was installed in June, 2009.  The switch to digital records is scheduled to begin August 2009.  Full implementation is expected by January 1, 2010.  It should result in better, more accessible records and better care for you.

Server is installed.  Training has started.

Yoga is a fantastic way to increase your strength and flexibility. As we age, we all become more stiff and less flexible.  Yoga slows down or reverses that process.  It's always a great stress management tool.

Dr. Steensma is a registered yoga instructor. He teaches an all level Community Yoga Class at The Yoga Channel. 2520 Roosevelt Blvd., Oxnard next to Silver Strand Beach. 10:00-11:30 every Sunday morning. Drop in cost is $5.00, but your first class is free.   Private one on one instruction is also available.  Try it.  It can change your life - it changed mine!
